| What is Creative Expression? How does it work? What are the benefits? |
| Creative Expression is another form of therapy... an alternative to talking or journaling. Creative Expression is also known as Art Therapy, which guides the individual in directing his/her own personal power into a creative reality by incorporating emotions, feelings, attitudes, and desires through art. The overwhelming success of this tool, shows the value of it. There is no requirement of being an "artist," as the true artist presents what is on the inside that needs revealed. In this setting, drawing “stick figures” works. Clients in the past have said that Creative Expression is a “welcome relief,” as they are able to “turn off their brain,” and relax. This is when the best healing can begin. The primary goal of Creative Expression is to assist in the discovery of ones self. - it becomes a tool to reveal memories and old experiences - focus on recovery, spirituality, inner-awareness - promote emotional healing |
| What is Anger Management? How does it work? What are the benefits? |
Anger is a basic human emotion, but the key is to learn to express it appropriately. Often, among other emotions, it is a mask to cover feelings like sadness, fear, and disappointment. |
